The Telegram UNISA groups admin team are NOT UNISA staff, and this is a fact that is often overseen when we deal with our fellow students. We are independent from UNISA and we help other students in our free time. There are a ton of knowledgeable people in the groups and chances are, someone else already has a solution for your problem. But sometimes… there is nothing we can do, and you have to reach out to UNISA.
The role of admins
- There are 4500+ groups, and we have a small handful of active admins. The role of the admin is to maintain order. Not to be a subject matter expert. Therefore Admins does not have to be enrolled in the particular module they’re present in. Furthermore, the admins are fellow students. Students founded and run the community. UNISA does not employ the Admins. Moreover the Admins are not compensated for their contributions.
- There are some admins, who grow groups, encourage collaboration and are experts in a subject. This is not a role of the admin, however they are being a great example.
- Inboxed messages do not need to be responded to by admins enquiries should rather be directed to the bot with the /admin command.
