UNISA Financially suspended? Now What

Being Financially Suspended can come as a big shock. We all can go through financial difficulties, or simply forget to pay :-). In the event that you receive a letter from UNISA stating that you have been financially suspended, it may initially sound much worse than it actually is.

First things first, you won’t lose your progress, and UNISA won’t kick you out. Here is a summary of what you can / cannot do.

  • you can submit assignments
  • you can write exams
  • you can not register for the next semester (until you pay)
  • you will not receive your exam results (until you pay)

It is best to pay the outstanding amount as soon as possible. Should you need assistance, do not hesitate to visit a UNISA branch to make the necessary arrangements. Get help from Unisa and the role of Telegram Admins

How will you know?

  • On your Statement, you will see “SUSPENSION(FIN)”
  • You receive a letter/E-Mail from UNISA (example below)

Note that once you have paid, it may still take a few days for your results to be displayed. The quickest is to pay with a credit/debit card if possible. When you pay this way, the money enters your account immediately and, consequently, links directly to it.

A direct deposit can take a few days. Furthermore, UNISA will still need to match it to your account.

It is possible that you can apply for a Bursary or a loan, take the time and do the research:

In the Statement, it looks like this:
